Shearsby Bath wedding, Leicester – Graeme & Claire
Shearsby Bath wedding, Leicester
The day started well, as it was a lovely, hot, sunny day. I seemed to be having a bit of luck this year, as most of the weddings I have photographed have been rain free.
I travelled to Claire’s parent’s home, where she was getting ready. Everyone there, including the bride Claire, appeared very chilled and calm.
As the time grew nearer for Claire to put her dress on, her nerves started to show, but only a little bit though.
Once ready, I had a head start, and made the short journey from her parent’s home in Kibworth, to Shearsby Bath, to meet Graeme, the groom.
Shearsby Bath is set in the South Leicestershire countryside. It is a family run establishment, offering exclusive hire for general events, and also weddings.
When I arrived at Shearsby Bath, most of the guests had already made themselves at home, sat around the patio area having a pre-wedding drink. This gave me the impression of what type of wedding it was going to be, a fun, friendly, and lively day.
The guests soon started to move inside to ‘The Old Spa Room’. This room was perfect for the ceremony, as it was full of character, having original features, including oak beams and wooden panelling.
The ceremony was followed by drinks and photos outside, in Shearsby Bath’s extensive gardens.
I like Shearsby Bath for wedding photography, as there are several locations around the grounds to capture idyllic shots. I particularly liked the ‘Veil Bandstand’, as this provided a beautiful backdrop of the open fields beyond.
Graeme and Claire’s wedding breakfast then took place in ‘The Fountain Marquee’. The centerpiece of which, was the wonderful cake made by Claire’s mother herself. For the evening reception guests stayed in the marquee, and also spilled over to the lawn and patio areas, as it was a lovely evening.
