Wedding Photography Leicester – Alan & Stacy’s Vintage wedding
I originally met with Alan and Stacy back in February, where from our discussions I was given a clear picture of what their wedding was going to be like. It was clear that they wanted a low key, yet fun, friendly, welcoming vintage wedding.
The day started at Cottingham, home of Stacy’s grandmother. This is where Stacy, her mum, and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Unfortunately, they had been a little delayed at the hairdressers, which made getting ready a little rushed. The weather also took this time to decide to start raining, which later appeared to be a little bit of the theme of the day.
Stacy and her bridesmaids had a colour theme of light blue, with the bridesmaids wearing blue polkadot dresses, and Stacy with her white dress, and a blue petticoat.
This blue matched the wedding car, which turned up to take them all to the local Methodist church. The car was a 50’s American style, it was possibly a Cadillac, but I’m not too sure. Well imagine the film Grease, and then you get the picture.
I made the small journey down the road to the Methodist Church to meet Alan, the Groom. The church was already filling up at this point, so now it was just a short wait for the bride to make an appearance.
After the ceremony, the guests made their way to the reception venue, shortly followed by the bride and groom.
The reception was held at Medbourne Village Hall, a few miles away. There was a large marquee that had been erected on the Village Hall Green, which continued the vintage theme.
Guests enjoyed drinks and games inside the Village Hall, as well as ice creams. After which, the bride and groom, along with all of their guests enjoyed afternoon tea inside the marquee.
After afternoon tea, I took advantage of the break in the rain to take some more photos of the bride and groom around the village. Time seemed to fly by, as before I knew it, the evening entertainment had set up and had started to play. Memphis Blue, a 50s and 60s Rock and Roll band performed many hits that suited the theme of the day.
Indeed, the whole party rocked the night away to the music played by Memphis Blue.
What a lovely day.
